Inked Up commissioned and presented the work of 11 Tattoo Artists and Artists working within the realm of tattoos over the two floors at the depot_ Old Street 4th of March - 27th of May.
Role
Curation, concept development, project management, artist management and installation of this international group show showcasing newly commissioned works on paper by tattoo artists and paintings and prints by artists visually positioning themselves within the tattoo community.
Curatorial Notes
In managing the artist liaison and recruitment for the commissions I ensured we were working to include artists from marginalised tattoo communities which resulted in a female majority show within a community that is a notoriously male-dominated field with artists from Asia, South America and African communities.
